Escape to our charming 17th-century Cotswold Cottage nestled in the serene Cherwell Valley — the perfect setting for countryside walks and peaceful canal-side escapes. This beautifully restored retreat features two super-king bedrooms, blending historic character with modern comfort. Wake to birdsong, enjoy a slow breakfast in the cosy kitchen, and step out into your south-facing orchard garden, surrounded by nature. After a day exploring, unwind by the fireplace or gather around the fire pit in the dappled, south-facing walled orchard garden, overlooking a protected conservation area and framed by cherry and apple trees. With off-street parking for two cars and a tranquil setting, the cottage offers an idyllic, private hideaway — a perfect spot to relax and reconnect. We love welcoming guests to our cottage and sharing a place that we’ve thoughtfully restored and enjoy ourselves. The Cherwell Valley is a special part of the countryside, and we’re always pleased when guests can slow down, switch off, and make the most of the surroundings. We’re particularly fond of long walks along the canal, quiet mornings in the garden, and evenings around the fire pit — simple moments that make staying here feel like a true escape. We’re always happy to share local recommendations, whether it’s a great walk, a nearby pub, or somewhere special to visit during your stay.
Ideally located in the Cherwell Valley, the cottage is perfectly positioned for both relaxation and exploration. Rousham Gardens, Blenheim Palace, and the historic city of Oxford are all within a 25-minute drive. For a more elevated countryside experience, Daylesford Farm, Estelle Manor, and Soho Farmhouse are also within easy reach. Closer to home, enjoy a slower pace with the village shop, local pub, historic stone ruins, and the lake overlooked by Middle Aston House all within walking distance. Heyford Wharf, with its charming canal-side moorings and peaceful towpath walks, is also within easy walking distance. Whether you’re seeking a peaceful retreat or a well-connected base to explore the Cotswolds and Oxfordshire, the cottage offers the best of both.
