Cosy Horizons managed by Ewelina and inspired by the stunning beauty of Dumfries
Bay 1 is a calm, sea-view caravan designed for guests who want comfort, peace, and a slower pace. It is a cosy place to switch off, enjoy the sound of the sea, and feel settled from the moment you arrive. Inside, the décor is modern and soothing, with a simple layout that feels easy to live in. The overall setup is feng shui friendly, designed to feel balanced and grounded - especially supportive for neurodivergent guests, families, and anyone managing low mood or feeling overstressed. The living room has comfortable seating, a smart TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi, plus a small working desk for guests who want to blend rest with a little remote work. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including a microwave, air fryer, coffee maker, and everyday essentials, so you can keep meals simple and stress-free. Bedrooms are set up for clean, restful sleep, with fresh anti-allergy bedding in a pet-free space that can suit guests with sensitivities. Families will also appreciate thoughtful touches such as children’s books and sensory items, helping both children and adults feel more at ease during the stay. For guests who would like extra support during their break, wellbeing and retreat add-ons can be arranged upon request. These may include online CBT sessions, EMDR counselling, and mental health wellbeing consultations delivered online by fully accredited BACP and COSCA therapists, subject to availability and pre-booking. One of Bay 1’s best features is the decking with sea views - a lovely spot for morning tea, quiet reading, and fresh air at the end of the day. If you have any questions before arrival or would like help planning a calmer stay, you are welcome to message us and we will do our best to support you.
I genuinely enjoy hosting because I know how powerful a calm break can be when life feels busy, heavy, or overstimulating. I am neurodivergent myself, and I understand how important it is to have a space that feels predictable, comfortable, and easy to settle into. That is why Cosy Horizons is not just a place to sleep - it is a place designed to help you reset. For more than six years I have worked in leadership and management roles linked to trauma recovery and emotional wellbeing. I have supported services, teams, and individuals with a strong focus on trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, clear boundaries, and respectful communication. Alongside this, I have built strong consultancy and operational management skills - planning, organising, problem-solving, and keeping things running smoothly - so guests can relax without having to chase information or worry about practical details. What I love about hosting is creating the kind of stay I wish existed more often - calm, clean, well organised, and genuinely welcoming. I pay attention to how spaces feel, not only how they look. I aim for a balanced, feng shui friendly layout, soothing décor, and simple comforts that reduce stress - especially for families, older guests, and people who experience anxiety, low mood, ADHD, autism, or sensory overload. Outside of work, I am happiest near the sea and in nature. I enjoy slow mornings, quiet coastal walks, and simple routines that bring the nervous system back to baseline. I also love creating little touches that support family life on holiday - books, sensory items, cosy corners, and spaces where children can feel safe and parents can breathe. If you have any questions before you arrive, or if you want to share anything that would help you feel more comfortable during your stay, you are welcome to message me. My aim is always the same - your wellbeing and comfort first, so you can enjoy a peaceful break and return home feeling better.
Wigbay Holiday Park is nestled near the charming village of Kirkcolm, offering guests a quiet and peaceful escape surrounded by stunning Scottish landscapes. The local community is wonderfully welcoming, always eager to greet new arrivals while maintaining a safe and respectful atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you can truly feel a sense of belonging, whether you're here for a relaxing break or a chance to explore the area’s treasures. Guests most often love how calm and open the area feels. Wig Bay Holiday Park sits in a quiet coastal spot near Kirkcolm, with the beach just across the road, so you can step straight into fresh sea air and gentle walks without needing to drive anywhere. It is the kind of place where slow mornings, shoreline strolls, and peaceful evenings come naturally. People also enjoy the simple on-site comforts - a friendly restaurant with home-style meals and afternoon options, a wooden playground, indoor soft play, and a small indoor heated swimming pool. Many guests appreciate that the pool can be pre-booked for a private session for their booking only, which helps keep things quieter and more sensory-friendly. The surrounding area is perfect for low-pressure exploring. Stranraer is close by for shops, cafés, and everyday essentials, as well as harbour walks. A favourite day trip is Portpatrick, a beautiful seaside village with coastal views and a relaxed feel. For bigger scenery, guests often head towards the Rhins of Galloway for coastal drives and walking routes, and some choose a trip to the Mull of Galloway for dramatic views. Nature lovers also enjoy Logan Botanic Garden and Castle Kennedy Gardens for a slower paced day out. In season, guests sometimes spot dolphins and sea lions from the shoreline, which is a lovely moment - especially for children.
