As Booking .com does not allow this fee to be added automatically to the reservation, the charge is payable directly to the property after booking. To ensure the comfort of all our guests — including those with allergies — we carry out a professional deep clean after every pet stay. This fee simply reflects the additional cleaning required by our local cleaning team.

The neighbourhood around Embo, where our Highland Sanctuary is located, feels like a peaceful slice of Highland coastal living. Embo is a small village of around 300 people, nestled ~2 miles north-northeast of Dornoch, where our family have been based for over 25 years. Golden-sanded Embo Beach stretches north from the village up to the edge of Loch Fleet — a quiet and wild coastline edged by dunes, ideal for long beach walks, wildlife watching (birds, seals, maybe dolphins) and peaceful relaxation. Just a short stroll or drive brings you to woodlands, trails and coastal paths linking Embo to Dornoch — making it easy to combine nature, gentle walks, history and local amenities. All in all, it’s a tranquil, scenic, nature-rich area — perfect for guests seeking calm, connection to the coast and countryside, plus easy access to nearby village or town comforts.
