What a wonderful surprise. Pictures are often misleading, but the Salt House is as quaint, lovely and comfortable as portrayed on line, if not more so. April was an absolutely charming host, keeping us entertained while our breakfast sandwiches cooked. What an amazing story! The rooms were almost decadent in their comfort. Roomy and plush, be careful not to drown in the pillows! Bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was simple but amazingly tasty and filling. Located in the heart of Golspie, with the Chippy shop 2 doors down, and the Golspie Inn a short 10 minute walk for dinner. Assuming you are here to see Dunrobin Castle, it's a short 10 minute drive away. April indicated plans to open a bar and expand the restaurant for dinner, and if they do, the Salt House will truly be a destination hotel, but it's great now, just the way it is.

Great location with views to the sea, great parking, room was spacious and very comfy. Loved the use of the dining area to reheat a takeaway meal the evening we arrived 10/10!! and we had the most delicious breakfast.

The apartment is beautiful and you can tell the host took great care in decorating the apartment with a wonderful Scottish theme. The entire apartment was comfortable and the massive bedrooms each had a full bathroom. It was on the Main Street with pubs and shops and a short walk to Dunrobin Castle. I highly recommend this apartment.

Used the master lock for access so super easy. All facilities were there and very well equipped. Loved the bedside lamps with USB A ports and a slot for holding your phone. Towels were soft and beds comfy. Cosy living room. Great heating and excellent showers. Coffee machine, pods for sale at the Coop. Location was amazing, right in the centre of the village. Free public car park opposite with lots of space and electric charge points. Decent hair dryer as well. The food at the Golspie inn, a 12 minute walk away, was great, their IPA was also very good. There was a Chinese takeaway opposite and fish and chips down the road. Communication with Lisa was great.

Golspie is a lovely place to stay & the Glenshee was perfect...

Golspie is a lovely place to stay & the Glenshee was perfect we had a small twin room which didn’t have a kettle in the room but you could make tea or coffee anytime in the eating area, breakfast was fantastic we were full all day. The hosts couldn’t have done any more to welcome us & make our stay as easy & comfortable as possible.

Golspie is a very pleasant town that offers good local...

Golspie is a very pleasant town that offers good local attractions - such as Dunrobin Castle which is well worth a visit, including a captivating falconry display. Walkers are well catered for with the coastal path - taking the train to Brora and walking back along the coast to Golspie is a good day's outing. The climb up Ben Bragghie is a steep pull but offers stunning views and a close up view of Golspie's famous landmark: first Duke of Sutherland's statue. Golspie has plenty of parking and a reasonable range of shops. It is a bit short of cheap and cheerful restaurants. The Stag Hotel offers reasonable bar food but beware - it's kitchen tends to close very early in the evening!
