Bents Holiday Cottage is a luxurious self-catering three-bedroom retreat, accommodating up to six guests and two dogs. Tucked away at the end of a private lane, this traditional stone-built cottage combines peace, comfort, and stunning views of the Brontë countryside. The property sits beside the famous “Three Chimney House,” featured in the 1970s film The Railway Children, adding a unique touch of history. Lovingly finished to a high standard, the cottage retains original features including stone windows, exposed beams, vaulted ceilings, and Yorkshire flagged floors. Thoughtful touches such as crisp white linen, fluffy towels, cosy blankets, and fresh eggs from our hens make your stay special. A cosy log burner adds warmth during winter months. The large garden with patio, table, chairs, and an egg chair offers a safe, secure space for children and dogs to enjoy, while private parking for two cars is available on the drive. Three footpaths lead directly from the cottage, ideal for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside. Located between the villages of Oxenhope and Haworth, the cottage is a 15-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) from Haworth’s main street, one of England’s prettiest. Visit the Brontë Parsonage Museum, wander the moors of Penistone Hill Country Park, or enjoy local pubs, tea rooms, shops, and a children’s park. Oxenhope offers scenic walks, a reservoir, and four country pubs. The Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway, famously featured in The Railway Children, is a two-minute walk away. Nearby, Marsh Top Farm Shop sells local produce, and a breakfast hamper can be arranged for arrival. Bents Holiday Cottage is a one-of-a-kind country escape, perfect for families, friends, and film enthusiasts seeking a peaceful, memorable stay in Yorkshire.
Welcome to Bents Cottage! We’re so excited to have you stay with us and hope you enjoy every moment of your Yorkshire getaway. We love hosting guests and sharing the peace, beauty, and history of the Brontë countryside—there’s nothing better than seeing families, friends, and even four-legged guests explore, relax, and make memories here. When we’re not welcoming visitors, we enjoy countryside walks, spotting local wildlife, and discovering cosy pubs and hidden gems around Haworth and Oxenhope. We hope you fall in love with the views, the history, and the charm of the cottage as much as we have. Relax, unwind, and enjoy your stay!
Things to Do Bents Cottage is perfectly situated between the charming village of Oxenhope and historic Haworth, whose main street is one of the prettiest in England. Just a 15-minute walk (or 2-minute drive) from the cottage, Haworth offers a wealth of attractions. At the top of the street, behind the church, stands the Brontë Parsonage, once home to the Brontë sisters, their brother Branwell, and father Patrick Brontë. Today, it is a fascinating museum with childhood writings, drawings, and Charlotte Brontë’s writing desk, offering a glimpse into literary history. Nearby, Penistone Hill Country Park and the surrounding moors inspired the Brontë sisters’ novels and offer scenic walks. Haworth’s main street also has restaurants, cosy pubs, tea rooms, and independent shops, while a lovely park is perfect for children to play or ride their bikes. Local Area & Oxenhope Oxenhope offers scenic walks, a reservoir to stroll around and feed the ducks, and four traditional pubs: The Waggon & Horses, The Lamb, The Dog and Gun, and The Bay Horse (drinks only). The village also has a park, a chemist, and a Co-op for essentials. The Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway terminus is a five-minute walk, made famous by the 1970 film The Railway Children. Nearby, Marsh Top Farm Shop sells local produce, and a breakfast hamper can be arranged for arrival at an extra cost. Special Occasions Bents Cottage is perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, or other milestones. Extras such as flowers, balloons, chocolates, champagne, cocktails, or afternoon tea can be arranged in advance to make your stay even more memorable.
