The cottages are in a peaceful rural location, over looking Loch Awe on our hill farm in Argyll. On the farm we keep traditional scottish Blackfaced sheep and galloway cattle which graze the fields and hills by the cottages. Guests are welcome to explore the farm and walk to the loch. Fishing is by permit and this is available at the farm. On the farm we have quite a few waterfalls and lovely sunsets over the loch/lake.
Catriona was born and brought up on the farm and now looks after the holiday cottages. Married to Martin, Catriona enjoys walking their dogs and also like to play golf at their local golf course at Dalmally
We are in a rural location midway along Loch Awe, the longest fresh water loch in Scotland at 38km long, farms and forests. Mighty Ben Cruachan towers over the Dalmally end of Loch Awe while the other end of the loch/lake leads to Kilmartin Glen (30 mins) has standing stones and rock art, and also Crinan Canal which is lovely to walk along with the reward of cafes and a lovely view. Kintail Birds of Prey is just 6 miles away. Inveraray (35mins) is a small seafront town with castle, jail, Dun na Cuaiche viewpoint, shops, restaurants, cafes and the seafood hut on the pier. Oban (1hr 15mins) - seafront town and gateway to the islands for wildlife day trips to mull. Shopping, cafes and restaurants. You will enjoy driving around scenic Argyll with it's many lochs, hills and mountains and you might like to explore a little further to take in Glen Coe, Fort William, Kintyre and Loch Lomond. There are no restaurants locally to Blarghour, so guests often enjoy a nice lunch while out and about.
