As the very proud Owners here at Canterbury House, we welcome you to our home, a beautiful 19th-century 3-storey house, with the River Sid a stone’s throw away, and the National Trust Park “The Byes”right next door. The Byes offer wonderful, relaxing walks, or just to sit and enjoy the beauty of the park, with few minutes’ stroll into the town and you will find an excellent choice of independent shops, restaurants and pubs. If you enjoy going to the cinema, “The Radway”, which opened in 1929, really is a gem to be treasured, showing old and new films, and if the sea is a little cold for you, Sidmouth has a local swimming pool just down the road from us. The wonderful Jurassic Coast is at the end of the town centre, a 10-minute walk from Canterbury, perfect to sit and take in the sea air. We can provide you with lightweight, easy carry folding chairs, a picnic rug/blanket to make your day more comfortable, and for a small fee, a packed lunch with a flask of tea/coffee for your day.
