The property is situated in a peaceful backwater between Matlock and Tansley within the grounds of a 200 year old Grade II listed flour mill. It was sensitively converted in 2003 and has views over a brook and along the Derwent Valley. It is warm and cosy, with free wi-fi, smart tv with a Netflix subscription, iPlayer etc; washer-dryer, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven
We bought the cottage so we could enjoy exploring the beautiful and historical Derbyshire countryside. There are lovely walks from the door and local shops, restaurants, pubs and even a brewery within walking distance. There is a small garden and decking with seating and table and a gas bbq for nice weather. There are also 2 private parking places behind the cottage so you can easily explore further afield. A bus stop and train station are nearby too.
Matlock has several attractions - a cable car across the main road to the Heights of Abraham; Gulliver's Kingdom - a children's amusement park; a large park with a playground, small boating lake, small minature train, skate park, tennis courts, bowling green and cafe; a mining museum and more.
