Smeaton Estate is a working farm of 450 acres, which is owned and run by the Gray family who live nearby, they have carefully maintained and preserved the natural beauty of the estate as well as working the land. You can enjoy glimpses of farm life from the cottage, which includes a large garden nursery, horses and Highland cows. Adjacent to the cottage are the grounds of the old mansion house with parkland, a lake and arboretum which is part of the National Tree Collection of Scotland. There is also an award winning tearoom, serving home baked cakes on the estate if you fancy a treat!
