Sowerbys Holiday Cottages started up in 2002 and has grown gradually with a portfolio of 300 hand-picked cottages we would all like to stay in. Appreciating the need to be nearby in the event of any issues that need resolving, we have deliberately limited the range of our cottages to a relatively small localised area of outstanding natural beauty, within 20 minutes drive of Burnham Market. We pride ourselves on offering a personal, professional service to both our owners and our guests. Our owners can relax in the knowledge that we are looking after all aspects of their holiday homes; and our guests can relax knowing that we all live locally and have a genuine desire to help in the event of an emergency, or simply to offer local advice on what to do, where to eat etc.

Channel Cottage is a period coastal cottage, newly renovated throughout to create a luxurious retreat for two. It's quietly located tucked away in Red Lion Yard, only steps away from Wells-next-the-Sea's bustling quay with its fishing boats and a great selection of shops and places to eat. Downstairs this lovely cottage has a superb well-equipped kitchen and a separate attractive sitting room with a wood-burning stove. Upstairs there's a beautifully presented bedroom with a king-size bed and a contemporary newly created shower room. Simply the perfect place to treat yourself to a stay throughout the year with the beauty of the North Norfolk coast literally on your doorstep and the advantage of the use of a lockable shed and outdoor dog shower. 2 night stays are available and the adjoining cottage, Channel View, may be booked to provide accommodation for an additional 2 guests. Linger longer when you book to stay for Friday and Saturday nights - no need to leave until Sunday evening!

Burnham Overy Staithe A pretty coastal village with a busy harbour which used to be predominantly a fishing village, but is now a very popular place for sailors, walkers and bird-watchers, with the area being designated as “an area of outstanding natural beauty”. During the summer there is a ferry out to the nature reserve of Scolt Head Island, a bird and seal sanctuary. For the more energetic it takes about 30 minutes to walk along the coastal footpath across the marshes out to the vast expanse of sandy beach which is quite often deserted. The large black Burnham Overy windmill dominates the skyline for miles around and on the outskirts of village there is a fine collection of 18th century mill-buildings next to the river Burn. The village has a good local pub called The Hero which makes great home-cooked food using locally sourced ingredients.
