Originally from London, we have lived in Starbotton for over five years, having been tempted by the "Escape To The Country" lifestyle. Our family also includes Poppy, a delightful Golden Doodle who is always willing to meet new friends on request. We are both still very active in our professional careers as show producers and agents in the entertainment industry and we are always happy to chat about our experiences. We also look forward to hearing about our guests and may be coaxed to the Fox & Hounds to share a drink or two! Starbotton is ideally located to use as either your base for a walking or cycling holiday or just as a stopover when travelling through Upper Wharfedale. Special events in the area include the annual Scarecrow Festival in Kettlewell (August) and the Forties/Dickensian weekends (September and December) in Grassington. This locality also provides the backdrop for the filming of Channel Five's "All Creatures Great & Small" as well as many other feature films. We are happy to offer advice about the many attractions and must-sees in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and beyond.

Cleveliot House is an attractive stone built detached property with a large garden and a dog-friendly large enclosed field. Situated in the heart of the village of Starbotton, just a stone's throw from the Fox & Hounds pub and the Dales Way. We currently offer three bijou double bedrooms, both with spacious ensuite bathrooms. Room 1 has a Jacuzzi bath and separate walk-in shower. Rooms 2 and 3 have a bath with an integrated shower. Our comfortable rooms are centrally heated and have tea/coffee making facilities. We also provide a welcome pack of basic toiletries. All rooms are located on the first floor. There is free, high speed wi-fi throughout the property and. access to a washing machine and dryer for a small additional fee. A full Yorkshire Breakfast cooked on our Aga (or a lighter alternative should you prefer) is served in the dining room overlooking our garden and the Dales beyond. Weather permitting, guests may also choose to eat breakfast al fresco on our raised terrace. Our produce is locally sourced and we can provide a packed lunch if requested in advance. We have a comfortable guest lounge which has comfy sofas, a large screen television and an open fireplace. There is a selection of board games available for guests use. Ideal for relaxing in after a long day of walking or cycling. At Cleveliot House, we welcome everyone including walkers, cyclists and, of course, well-behaved dogs. We have ample outdoor parking and cycle stands in our garage which guests are welcome to use. Dogs can also be exercised in our fully enclosed field. The Fox & Hounds offers good food at lunchtime and evenings (subject to their opening hours) and at weekends, our neighbour provides an eat in/take out service offering delicious pizzas - highly recommended! We are very well situated for good food and we can recommend various other options nearby should you wish to venture outside the village. There is a bus service which stops in the village.

Starbotton is a small village in Upper Wharfedale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Situated by the River Wharfe halfway between Kettlewell and Buckden, the Dales Way is on the opposite side of the river. Starbotton is popular with walkers and cyclists as it is ideally located to use as a base for exploring this beautiful part of the world. The village is served by a friendly pub which serves excellent food and ales and there are many other pubs within walking distance.
