Breakfast items in the fridge - perfect. Everything we needed. Good information beforehand so we knew what to expect and could add extras of our choice like fruit and yoghurt.

The location was just gorgeous and what the doctor ordered! We came here to celebrate our wedding and we just fell in love with it - we found a little rope swing and just enjoyed sitting there with the sheep and a woodpecker!

Tucked away on a working sheep farm in the South Downs National Park, our totally secluded, hand-built shepherds hut has been designed to offer you a tranquil getaway. Nestled on the edge of ancient woodland, the hut offers views of rolling grassland and nearby Blackdown (the highest point in West Sussex). There is vehicle access to the hut, and parking is provided. Our luxuriously appointed hut prioritises comfort, consisting of a shuttered, raised, king-size bed; cosy living space comprising of a sofa, wood-burning stove, and a compact kitchen (including a foldable dining table and chairs). The hut kitchen includes a single gas hob, toasting rack, and kettle. An outdoor Cook Hut is also provided, fully equipped for outdoor cooking with a gas hob and barbecue. There is also a bathroom, including a full-sized shower, basin, and eco-friendly, Scandinavian designed waterless toilet. Sitting within its own enclosure, the outdoor space consists of a wooden deck with al fresco dining table and chairs. The ambience is completed by a large, raised firepit, outdoor lounge chairs, and solar powered lighting. Entirely off-grid, the hut is powered by solar panels and a battery bank which run the fridge and ice box, all lighting, and USB charging points.
Hello, I'm Emma. Our farm has been in the family for 50 years, and as your host I am delighted to be able to invite you to share in our little slice of Sussex. Three generations of the family live and work on our sheep farm. Though numbers have reduced over the years, we still have a flock of over 500, with lambing taking place in the spring. Living and working in this special part of the countryside, I was keen to be able to share this space with you. The Shepherds Hut allows you an authentic stay on a working sheep farm, enabling you to fully immerse yourself in the true, rural experience. Being less intensive and running fewer sheep, we have begun a regenerative process on the farm, and are part of countryside stewardship schemes to protect and preserve wildlife. I am looking forward to welcoming you.
Located three quarters of a mile along a private farm road, you are within walking distance of the quintessential Sussex village of Lurgashall, offering the award winning Noahs Ark pub, with its large, green-side beer garden. The village also boasts a locally-stocked village shop, and picturesque cricket green. The area is criss-crossed by bridleways and footpaths, offering fantastic walking and cycling opportunities. A walk up Blackdown to the 'Temple of the Winds' will offer the keen-eyed a glimpse of the hut itself. Haslemere Train Station is located only 7 miles from the property, providing quick links to central London and the South Coast. Petworth with its wonderful array of antique shops, cafes, and the national trust property of Petworth House and Park, are only a 15 minute drive away. Goodwood Racecourse, The Festival of Speed, and The Revival are all easily accessible. Parham House, Cowdray Park (famous for its polo), Pulborough Brooks, and Arundel Castle and Cathedral are also close by. For theatre enthusiasts, the nationally renowned Chichester Festival Theatre and Guildford's Yvonne Arnauld Theatre are within easy travelling distance. We are in the heart of West Sussex wine country. Upperton, Nyetimber, Nutbourne, Tinwood, and Denbies in the Surrey Hills are all a short distance away. For any beer enthusiasts, Langham Brewery in the neighbouring village of Lodsworth, offers a tap room and hand-thrown, wood-fired pizzas.
