We are a short 2-minute walk from the centre of Ashbourne. Ideal for you to be able to enjoy the large park area and the plentiful cafes, pubs and shops without using your car. We are central for exploring the attractions of Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and Matlock. Enjoy walking at Dovedale or the Tissington trail. Heather cottage is perfect to relax in - on the decking area with a glass of wine or get cosy inside with a film and a take away! We also have Netflix and board games to entertain.
Ashbourne is our favourite place to walk and relax with good food. We would love to share our beautiful cottage for guests to enjoy their special time in Ashbourne. Ashbourne has an abundance of eateries to cater for all, from coffee and homemade cakes to a lovely gastro dining experience. Explore the independent shops and the cobbled market place framed with listed buildings. To the side of Ashbourne is a lovely green space to walk or for the younger ones to play in the park or just to take in the wildlife. There is also a leisure center within ten minutes walk if you have a rainy day. A short car or bus journey can take you to Matlock Bath, Bakewell, Hartington or Buxton and there are plentiful walks in Dovedale, Alton and along the Tissington trail. Alton Towers is also a short drive away. Free on-street parking is available outside Heather Cottage, then it is a short two-minute walk into Ashbourne. There is a bus station for any further exploring of the peak villages and you can also hire bikes to enjoy the Tissington trail.
