Looking forward to meeting you! It is a joy to meet guests from all over the world. I have been hosting for over 12 years and my reviews speak for themselves. I have maps of local walks, cycle routes and travel in the area. I love throwing pottery, walking, paddle boarding on the Creek and I also keep bees in the lovely charity garden in the middle of Faversham. The Abbeyphyic garden a beautiful and peaceful place. There is so much to do and see in and around Faversham
Faversham has so much to offer! There is a lot of history with beautiful streets of medieval houses, local independent shops, restaurants and pubs. Book in advance for the brilliant tour of Shepard Neame brewery. See the whole process and enjoy a flight of their very popular beers. Faversham is famous for beer brewing, barges, gunpowder industry and bricks. At one time there were 3 breweries. The gunpowder industry goes back to the 16th century. Follow the gunpowder trail including the Gunpowder Park to see the process and history unfold. Visit the fascinating museum, the Magna Carta in the tourist centre and also a police museum. Bricks, gunpowder, corn, fruit and vegetables were just some of the cargoes on the hundreds of barges that plied their trade on the Faversham Creek. Creekside bed and breakfast is actually built on the old shipyard. Within 5 minutes walk you can follow the Creekside Saxon Shore trail. Follow the path around the Creek watching out for egrets, cormorants, owls, skylarks and very recently spoonbills have been spotted. Follow it to the Shipwright’s inn snuggling down on the banks featuring home cooked food, open fires and a wonderful ambiance. From there you can walk to Oare with its lovely little church and bird sanctuary. Go the other way and follow the Saxon Shore way through town and passing through Standard Quay with its quirky shops, wine bar, Anchor pub and Papa Bianco pizza restaurant with live music at the weekends. From there you can continue to Iron Quay and on to Whitstable. It is easy to get to Whitstable, Canterbury and Thanet by car, bus or train. London is around 90 minutes by train. The railway station is a pleasant walk away or a short taxi ride. The house is the last town house, there are two parking spaces on the drive. If they are both occupied there are 5 more spaces to the left. Waterside Close is a private gated cul de sac.
