Everything, the property was done to a very good spec. Particularly liked floorings through out and furnishings. The under floor heating was amazing. And an all round hit stay for us with my elderly mother in law with mobility restrictions. 🤩👍

This property was lovely. We stayed here over Christmas and wanted somewhere quiet - this was a perfect location, out of the way - all you could here in the morning were the birds and the water dripping off the trees. If you like a walk and...

Cuckoo Barn is a fantastic recent conversion of an old stone and slate out building on an upland hill farm in Carmarthenshire, Wales. With its stylish homely decor and amazing views this romantic and quirky spacious barn will both wow and cosset you. There are 3 bedrooms and a shower room and an en-suite bathroom. The master bedroom has a king size (5 ft) double bed. The large second bedroom has twin beds, and an en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom has twin beds. So we can accommodate up to 6 people. You will have ample parking spaces for several cars or vans, a sheltered outside garden space, 50+ meg Wi-Fi and a terraced area with a little bit of peace and quiet.
I have been a farmer for most of my working life, but many years ago I started holiday letting properties in Bath, and now on the farm in Wales too - both are such great places to visit and stay. I enjoy participating in a few sports, and also like a bit of culture, and comfort, and that's what we try to provide for our guests. Have a look at LodgeLocations for more information.
Whether your stay is for family, friends or a romantic weekend get away, you could not ask for a more delightful retreat from the hustle and bustle of modern life, and you are within seconds of quiet countryside walks which can be as challenging as you wish; a stroll around the farm or on sheltered roads and footpaths, or up to the ridge of Fforest, the nearest hill top of the Cambrian range at about 1300 feet. All without getting in the car. Guests have the whole of Cuckoo Barn, its garden and the terraced outside area with tables and seating to themselves, along with several parking spaces. You are welcome to roam across the 40 acres of the farm and stream bordered woodland (maps provided), which has several delightful spots for picnics, farm walks and some wonderful views. So bring your wellies, walking boots, coats and binoculars. You will see Red Kites, buzzards, sparrow hawks, starlings, swallows, wagtails, cuckoos, woodpeckers, crows, finches and probably lots of other birds and even, perhaps, hear the cuckoo we named the barn after! The dark night skies are a treat for city dwellers; you can easily see the Milky Way on a clear night; a wonderful sight.
