An artist's inspired retreat, colourfully decorated and filled with art, this small but quaint cottage is situated in the village of Little Barningham, close to the market towns of Holt and Alysham.
The front door leads directly into the sitting room. This is a room painted in a warm but vibrant green, hung with colourful original artwork. This room contains a wood burning stove together with a full basket of logs. A smart TV with Wi-Fi access hangs hidden behind decorated cupboard doors above the fireplace. A table with chairs are placed by the window and a door leads into a small bright, well equipped kitchen, which includes an electric oven, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher.
The bathroom is accessed through the kitchen and features an original victorian bath, hand made tiles and vintage sanitary ware (no shower).
The backdoor from the kitchen leads into a private, paved seating area from which to enjoy the outside space.
Upstairs is accessed from the sitting room, which leads to a small landing where there is a chair next to the window; a perfect and quiet place from which to read a book.
The main bedroom is simply decorated featuring more original artwork and contains a STANDARD DOUBLE brass and iron bed, dressing table and mirror and a walk in wardrobe with shelving. A small older, wall hung TV, hangs unobtrusively on the wall.
In addition, a small room off from the landing, is available to store suitcases or indeed can adequately serve as a second bedroom should your booking be for two adults sleeping separately. The bed occupying this room is a small old fashioned single measuring 6'3 x 2'6.
Please be aware that the cottage is old and as such has entrances and doorways that are quite low. Please MIND YOUR HEAD when walking from room to room.
The stairs are tricky and not suitable for persons with mobility issues.
Please note there is no shower, only a very comfortable victorian bath.
I am a painter and ceramicist and have carefully curated the cottage and filled it with many of my paintings and ceramics, painted lampshades and hand made tiles.
My studio adjoins the cottage and when I am painting, guests are welcome to look round.
