The apartment is owned by Fife Historic Buildings Trust, a local Building Preservation Trust. It is a company limited by guarantee and has charitable status. It was formed in 1997 primarily for the purpose of saving and restoring historic buildings in Fife which are at risk. We are very proud of our beautiful historic building and would love to welcome you here. By staying in one of our apartments you will be contributing to the upkeep, maintenance of these and other buildings across Fife.

Cupar Burgh Chambers is a stylish and welcoming two-bedroom apartment set within a beautiful historic building in the heart of Cupar. Thoughtfully refurbished in Summer 2018, it blends traditional character with modern comfort, offering guests the perfect base for a relaxing stay in Fife. The apartment retains many charming period features, with décor carefully chosen to complement the building’s heritage while still providing all the modern amenities guests expect. One of its standout features is the spacious open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area on the first floor, complete with a stunning large bay window that fills the space with natural light—ideal for relaxing or socialising. Upstairs, on the second floor, are two well-appointed bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom features a comfortable king-size bed, while the second bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements and can be configured as a super king or twin beds. Additional sleeping options include a single bed (that can be in either bedroom), sofa bed in the living area, and a travel cot, making the apartment perfect for families, groups, or friends travelling together. Guests particularly appreciate the apartment’s central location, making it ideal for exploring the historic town of Cupar, nearby St Andrews for world-famous golf, or day trips to Dundee and Edinburgh. All essentials—including heating, electricity, linen, and towels—are included, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free stay from the moment you arrive. Please note that the apartment is spread across the first and second floors, so there are several stair cases, but this layout adds to the sense of space and privacy throughout.

Cupar has all the amenities that you would require for a comfortable, enjoyable and relaxed break. Butchers, bakers, greengrocers, newsagents, boutiques, supermarkets and even discount shops all located within walking distance, as well as chemists, banks, cafes, pubs, restaurants and lots more. A lot of the restaurants around Cupar and the surrounding area are highly rated and there is a wide variety of cuisines and restaurant settings available. If you are looking for something a little special The Peat Inn in Cupar is a Michelin-starred restaurant serving high quality meals. Cupar has a lot of history and there is a museum by the train station should you wish to find out more. On the third Saturday of every month there is a farmers market. The historic and golfing town of St Andrews is a 20 minute drive away. The train station is a 5 minute walk from the apartment and will connect guests to Edinburgh, Dundee, or with transfers Aberdeen, Inverness and Glasgow. There are buses from the street to transport around Cupar, Fife and to Dundee/Edinburgh.
