We have been operating holiday accommodation for fifty years this year in Argyll. Dana Villa is also our home therefore we are on hand if you need assistance or advice. During this time we have seen many changes in the type of accommodation that people expect on holiday and we pride ourselves on the fact that we have moved with the times and offer up to the minute facilities for our guests but more importantly we have retained a good old fashioned sense of Scottish hospitality and a welcoming open door to all our guests. We are extremely lucky to have staff who have worked for us for many years and who have very high standards of cleanliness and hospitality. There is not many questions we have not been asked over the last forty years therefore we are able to answer and advise our guests during their stay with us on Oban and surrounding area. We have enjoyed meeting thousands of guests over the years and have made some very good friends from all over the UK and many countries during their stays with us. We offer modern facilities with traditional values. We feel that our best marketing point is that we have many guests who have been staying at Dana Villa repeatedly over the last forty four years.

Dana Villa is ideally situated in the centre of Oban, it is a few minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal, train station and bus station and handy for all visitor attractions. The house is a stone built Victorian Villa located on the main road into Oban one street back from the esplanade where we would suggest you have an evening stroll to witness our beautiful sunsets. We have made new changes at Dana Villa in 2023 due to the new situation we all find ourselves in to help keep everyone safe, we have changed to private check in/check out to give our guests more flexibility on times of arrival and departure. We no longer provide cooked breakfast at the house but we have negotiated a discount for our guests at the The Scot Hotel which is roughly 250 meters from the house they provide a generous cooked breakfast which has been very popular with our guests. We update our rooms every year with new facilities this year we have changed to Smart Televisions allowing our guests to use their Netflix or Amazon Prime accounts during their stay plus all guests have access to fridge facilities.

Your first view of Oban is one that you are not likely to forget as you travel down the hill towards the bay. The view in front of you is testament to Oban’s reputation as one of Scotland’s most popular visited west coast holiday town destination. Thanks to the ferry services and railway, this is a busy town with many shops, banks, garages and many wonderful restaurants. It is particularly renowned for fresh fish and seafood restaurants. Dana Villa is ideally placed to stay and explore all Oban has to offer.. Oban is known as the ‘Gateway to the Islands’ as it is the starting point for your crossing to Mull and the other Islands of the Inner Hebrides; Kerrera which protects the town from the Atlantic storms, the low, green island of Lismore, majestic Mull and the granite mountains of the Morvern peninsula. Beyond them, the sacred island of Iona, Coll, Colonsay and Tiree. It is a friendly town and has a variety of entertainment to offer in the evenings throughout the season, with most of the larger hotels and pubs offering a variety of entertainment.
