In 2022, our family acquired the cabin at Neaum Crag. The moment we set foot on the Neaum Crag Estate, it captured our hearts. Immersed in nature, it seemed the ideal retreat for relaxation and a perfect base for exploring the Lake District. We set to work to restore the run down lodge to a cosy 'home away from home' for all to enjoy. History of the estate: Neaum Crag, established in the late 19th century, was a private retreat for notable figures like Mr. Fleming, a friend of John Ruskin. The estate merges historical charm with modern amenities. Neaum Crag House, nestled in woodlands, included a Coach House and a kitchen garden. In the late 1800s, the house was expanded to its current form, including a now-missing tower with panoramic views. The estate featured beautifully landscaped grounds, winding paths through the woods, and a significant sundial in the kitchen garden area, where the pool facilities now exist. Mature native and exotic trees from that period still add to its historical significance and charm.

Whether you're in the mood to unwind with a coffee at one of the cozy cafes, explore the historic Roman fort at Waterhead, or take a leisurely stroll to Lake Windermere for a scenic cruise to Bowness or Lakeside, there's something for everyone.
