Just a stones throw away from the beach. The cottage was built in the 1800,s by a farmer who had two daughters Daisy and Dora. 8 cottages were built that were split into fours, one group of four named Daisy and the other four named Dora. unfortunately Daisy cottage no longer exist but the second set of four Dora cottages remain :)

If you like to get out in the open there is plenty to do. just at the end of the road there is a cycle and walk path that runs either to the beach or along side the railway line up to a small village called Hightown. At the end of this path stands the Hightown pub which has just been under full refurbishment. its a cracking little pub with friendly staff, great for food and drink and also has an outdoor seating area for the summer months :) From this point you can carry on through high town onto another path which will take you all the way to Crosby, this is a nice path hugging the coast line and if the sea is out you can see the Iron men. Back from the house location; Formby Village is within a mile from the property and has a good selection of pubs, bars and restaurants. Great evening entertainment on a weekend in the heart of the village. Formby is a town and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Merseyside, England, which had a population of 22,419 at the 2011 Census. Historically in Lancashire, three manors are recorded in the Domesday Book under "Fornebei", Halsall, Walton and Poynton. Cockle raking and shrimp fishing lasted into the 19th century. By 1872, the township and sub-district was made up of two chapelries (St Peter's and St Luke's), Birkdale township, the hamlets of Ainsdale and Raven-Meols and Altcar parish. Formby was built on the plain adjoining the Irish Sea coast a few miles north of the Crosby channel. A commuter town for Liverpool, Formby is also a tourist destination with day trippers attracted to its beaches, sand dunes and wildlife, particularly the endangered red squirrel and natterjack toad. The area is conserved by the National Trust, and designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
