Restaurants were plentiful and inexpensive we had a lovely meal spoilt on our return to the hotel lights in our room stopped working at ten o'clock so we had no choice but to go to bed couldn't be bothered going all the way to reception to complain as we had already changed rooms once

Better than I remembered, overall clean and well laid out Victorian parades. Some lovely monumental buildings, Turkish baths, etc. Plenty of food and bar outlets, very reasonably priced. The parks are well worth a visit and they are free - looking a little tired when we visited in August due to drought conditions though. A good location for a get away break, we will return soon.

After many trips along Lord Street we were quite shocked by the lack of shops and shabby appearance. So many places to visit but enjoyed Botanical Gardens. For convenience we ate at Brewers Fayre food was good but very busy.Southport is flat so easy for those with mobility problems.Good bus service. We are both in our Eighties and main activities revolved around parks, gardens, arts etc.

Lovely place and friendly locals.

Lovely place and friendly locals. Plenty of shops for just about everything you need. Lots of activities to keep you occupied, plenty to choose from, lake cruise, speedboats, motorboats, land train, miniature railway, crazy golf, along with lots of lovely shops along Lord Street and the surrounding area. Looking forward to the refurbishment and reopening of the pier in 2027. We've just come home from our 2nd break in southport and both times weve thoroughly enjoyed it. We'll be visiting again next year to hopefully walk along the pier!

Shirley and Gary are wonderful hosts. Nothing is too much for them. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked. The choice was very good. The room is topped up and cleaned every day. Shirley and Gary are very knowledgeable of the area. Close to the main street, close to the shopping area and train station, and close to the sea front too. Parking available too. This is our go to hotel whenever we visit Southport. This was our third visit and it won't be our last.

We love Southport and it was our first time at the Waterfront Hotel. Love the fact it has a spacious and secure underground carpark. Nice size room and was clean with a great view of the lake. Comfy bed i slept like a log. Typical buffet style breakfast which we love. We will definitely be staying here again.
