Dormouse Cottage sits over two floors and consists of a kitchen/diner with a double electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine, along with a lounge featuring an open fire, Smart TV and WiFi. The bedrooms consist of one king-size room and one single room, serviced by a shower room. Gas central heating is provided throughout. Outside, there is a patio and garden, along with an outhouse and a large secure bike and kit store. Parking is available on the lane close to the property on a first-come, first-served basis. Bed linen and towels are provided, and a first night’s starter supply of logs and coal is included. Fuel for the open fire beyond the starter pack is not included. Dormouse Cottage offers a charming Lakeland base close to Coniston’s scenery. Note: Strictly no children under the age of 12 yrs are permitted to stay at this property

Nestling at the head of Coniston Water, the pretty village of Coniston is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lake District National Park, making it a superb base for touring, with Hawkshead, Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere just a short drive away. Superb walking, mountain biking and climbing are available locally on Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam, and the lovely woodland trails at Grizedale Forest. For watersports enthusiasts, the quiet lake is ideal for dinghy sailing and canoeing, whilst the less active can enjoy a leisure cruise on the beautiful steam yacht 'Gondola’, or visit Brantwood, the former home of John Ruskin. Nearby attractions include the award-winning village of Hawkshead, home of the Beatrix Potter Gallery, Tarn Hows, one of the most visited beauty spots in the country and Esthwaite Water, famous for its fishing.
