We had been visiting the lake District for over 20 years and always felt at home here. When Puddle Duck Lodge became available we saw it's potential and decided to make a life changing plunge and run a guest house! We made Puddle Duck Lodge our home in September 2018 and have carried out a regime of improvements and refurbishment that we hope will make your stay with us as comfortable, cosy and enjoyable as possible. The Lodge was built circa 1864 and we believe it has been a guest house for much of its life, it is full of character and has been a labour of love bringing this to life. We hope you love it as much as we do.

You will always get a warm and friendly welcome at Puddle Duck Lodge, our picturesque cottage. Built from traditional Lakeland stone in 1864 on the quiet Biskey Howe Road it is the ideal base for whatever type of break you choose. Choose from four attractive, Individually designed rooms. Including a beautiful double suite, a romantic double four poster, a premier ensuite single and a superior single with external private bathroom, all overlooking our pretty cottage garden. Free parking in our adjoining carpark (1 car per room) Free superfast WiFi, Complimentary continental style hamper breakfast of your choice. Feel free to enjoy sitting in the garden. The Boat House Suite (double room) and Herdwick (single ensuite) are both dog friendly, please enquire with us directly before booking to confirm the breed of your dog, as we do not accept large dogs. There is a charge of 20 GBP pounds for the first night and just 5 GBP pounds for subsequent nights. WE DO NOT ALLOW DOGS TO BE LEFT ALONE AT ANYTIME we are not insured. We would appreciate it if you keep pets on a lead in public areas of the property and garden. Many shops, pubs and eateries are very dog friendly. There is a vast array of activities in the area, including: The Royalty, our local traditional cinema only a 2-minute walk away, the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, 5 minutes, the new Jetty Museum, 10 minutes, The Old Laundry Theatre 7 minutes, gorgeous views from Biskey Howe Viewing point 7 minutes ,10 minutes to the boat piers, great shopping and eateries. In the heart of the English lake district, a world heritage site, Puddle Duck Lodge is located in quiet but very convenient area of the picturesque Bowness on Windermere. It's just a short stroll to many shops, restaurants, pubs, the Beatrix Potter attraction and the steamer piers. We even have friendly local swans that love having their photo taken! A great base for which ever activity you choose in some of the most amazing scenery in the country.
