Empire Travel Lodge was originally Lochgilphead's Picture House, when it closed down it was first converted to a snooker hall for a few years before it was opened in 1992 as a Guest House. All rooms are ensuite, have free tea/coffee making facilities and Irons and Ironing boards in every room. It is an ideal stopover for catching the ferry to Islay which is an approximate 25 min drive away. Our family rooms are large and can accommodate families of 5, just give us a ring for more details We live on site and try our best to meet our guests needs
Jim and Ele bought the Empire Travel Lodge in 2005 from Jims parents. Jim was a self employed joiner and Ele was a NHS senior Manager before giving it all up to run their own business. We live in our flat above the guest accommodation. We work hard and play hard with both of us enjoying playing golf and both very involved with the local golf club. We enjoy holidaying and playing golf in the sun and head to the Canaries twice a year. Our business remains open thanks to relatives who take over the helm to let us have a well earned rest
