Built right on the coast on the ruin of a netsman’s bothy, the houses boasts spectacular views of the mountains of Eigg, Muck, Rum and the Cuillins of Skye as well as the green and turquoise waters of Fascadale bay. The bay itself is stunning. Banks of rounded stones, cast up by countless storms, line the shore. At low tide a beach of pale sand, which gives the waters their colour, is exposed. This is where the boats landed their catch, to be stored in the ice house, which remains to this day. In summer you can watch the sun setting behind the islands soundtracked by the gentle swell of water. The winter months are different but just as beautiful, full of crashing waves, swirling spindrift and the crackle of the woodburning stove.
