We had an excellent stay at the Crab & Creel! The staff are superb. Greg, Biz, Rob really made our stay in Mallaig. We were treated to delicious seafood in the restaurant, excellent service, including room service and helpful suggestions. We loved our room with the King Size bed. It was very comfortable and homey. We wished we were staying longer. Highly recommended! Thank you for our wonderful stay.

Location and the friendly staff, especially Akram and Trenton. Normally no place deserves 10, but the location is so nice that I can't help. This is 10/10 for me. I think I'll visit this place again. Amazing views from the rooms on one side.

Such a nice town to navigate; plenty of shops to buy local...

Such a nice town to navigate; plenty of shops to buy local souvenirs. Obviously the main draw is the fact that it is a gateway to the isles. Found the staff of CalMac to be very efficient and friendly. The best place for coffee and pastries is without a doubt, the Mallaig Bakery near the harbour. Went in there every day, it was amazing!

If you are taking the ferry to Skye it is ideal, but...

If you are taking the ferry to Skye it is ideal, but otherwise there is little to see and there are plenty of equally scenic routes in that part of the Highlands. We were taking the 930 am ferry so it was ideal

Mallaig is a very small town with very few attractions.

Mallaig is a very small town with very few attractions. However there are a handful of interesting dining options. It is a major ferry port for access to the Hebrides, but other than that, there are other places with more to see and do.

A lovely little fishing town at the end of the west coast...

A lovely little fishing town at the end of the west coast train line. Incredible beaches nearby, friendly people, good pub food and the great convenience of a well stocked Co-op. Plenty to do for a couple of days.

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the...

Great place to take a break when you are visiting the Highlands and Islands! Mallaig is a port town and a gateway to do many other places. The accommodation at An Bothan was excellent. Home from home with so many special touches from the owners to make the stay even more comfortable. We would highly recommend it if you are looking for a short or longer stay in Mallaig.

Small town with some good restaurants but limited...

Small town with some good restaurants but limited entertainment. Worth a couple of nights or longer if using it as a base. Try The Bakehouse and The Crab and Creel. Don't park for more than an hour outside the Co-Op

The location was fabulous. The views over Loch Morar are stunning. The location was one of the main reasons we chose to say at the property. Stanislaw was a perfect host. We appreciated the little touches of hospitality. The Easter Egg, the wine and especially the almond croissant! In fact, this tip lead us to the Mallaig Bakehouse whose sandwiches were a highlight of our stay.

We had a lovely overnight at An Bothan and would not hesitate to go back. The property is really well laid out , absolutely pristine and finished off to a high specification. Shirley came to welcome us which we appreciated. The property has excellent views across Mallaig Harbour and is a short walk from local amenities.
