The quaint village of Grassington is just 9 miles away and offers a variety of individual shops, pubs and restaurants. The village also hosts the Dickensian Festival around Christmas, and provides a wide variety of entertainment in summer at its Summer Arts Festival. Further down the dales lies the town of Skipton, with its Norman castle standing proudly at the head of the wide cobbled high street, here you will find an indoor swimming pool, golf course and a canal offering boat trips.
