Built on the site of Barnyards Mill over 100 years ago, this guest house is set 5 minutes’ walk from Dereham town center. It offers free WiFi and cozy rooms. The apartments and the maisonette have their own private bathrooms and kitchens. Various bars, restaurants and shops are all within 10 minutes’ walk. The property is ideally located for exploring Norfolks’ rich culture, with Norwich just 30 minutes’ drive away and the beautiful Norfolk coastline within 50 minutes’ drive. Glendower House is around 5 minutes’ walk from the Dereham Train Station on the Mid-Norfolk Heritage Railway line. Kings Lynn is 25 miles away.

Company info

Steve came to Norfolk 26 years ago and got hooked. Jane is a local girl. Our 5 boys have grown up in Norfolk. Glendower House was purchased in 2006, and after restoration, building and a change of career we began hosting in 2013. We live in the main house on-site with our 7 apartments around us. We love hosting and meeting people, although Jane takes 'days off' as a paramedic :) We're always on hand to help our guests.

Property info

Built around 1850 and located in the centre of Norfolk, Glendower House is the perfect place to stay. 5 of our 8 self contained apartments are arrayed around a quiet cobbled courtyard and adjacent to the main house, with a further 2 (Annex A and B ) on the other side of the house. Our Drayman's Rest apartment is located 200 yards away next door to our pub 'The Cock' on Norwich Street

Neighborhood info

Nearby there are plenty of activities. We have a bowling alley, cinema, tourist railway line (MNR) and plenty of places to eat and drink on our doorstep. We are opposite a supermarket and although we're in the town it's quite tranquil here. Of course being in central Norfolk we are a great place for guests to stay when visiting and/or exploring our lovely county .
