Tastefully decorated in French style, Hadrian's Bed and Breakfast offers privacy with open plan lounge and dining area. A separate bedroom which has twin beds and a contemporary shower room. Giving you plenty of private space to relax. French windows lead off all rooms on to the garden terraces. Extra attention to detail has been added to make your stay special. Whether you are walking/cycling or attending a wedding at Close House Country Club (which is within walking distance or two minutes drive) this is the perfect location. We will also drive you to and from Close House if required.
World traveled Andrew and Lesley know what the discerning traveler is looking for when staying away from home. We will fawn over you or if you prefer leave you in complete privacy, its your choice. Situated only a few minutes walk off the Hadrian's Wall Path at Heddon on the Wall in Northumberland .
Heddon on the Wall is situated about 9 miles west of Newcastle upon Tyne and is bordered on the south by the River Tyne . The village stands on the site of the Roman Wall , from which the village derives its name. A piece of the wall is still visible on the edge of the village. During the construction of the military road from Newcastle to Carlisle, in 1752, workman found a large number of Roman coins and medals of silver and copper in the ruins of the Wall. They had been deposited in wooden boxes, which were almost decayed, but the coins themselves were in almost mint condition. In 1820, others cast in brass and copper were found dating from 286 AD to 395. They were presented to the Society of Antiquaries of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1856.
