Headgate Farm Camp Site offers pitches only for your tent, camper van or motor home and is sited on the southern slopes of the Exmoor National Park for walks and activities and within the dark sky reserve for those who wish to see the starry skies. The wildlife, moors and woodland are amazing and sometimes it’s so important to step away from the trappings of modern life and embrace life’s simpler pleasures. These are among the rural treats served up during a stay at Headgate Farm, a working sheep farm in a secluded spot 5 minutes’ drive from the little village of North Molton with public house and community shop and 5 miles from the town of South Molton. A bijou little site so you’ll be among the few humans here, but there’s plenty of company to be had among the sheep, horses, donkeys and chickens, plus several working dogs and a cat. Bring your boots along, for the farm is right on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, with trails galore and heaps of activities to seek out. You might also want to pack your beach kit (surfboard included if that’s your thing), as it’s only a 40-minute drive from our amazing surfing beaches on the North Devon coast. Please Note: This is a small secluded Farm Camp Site offering grass pitches for your tent, caravan, motorhome or trailer tent, the pitches are approx. 9m.sq. There are toilet and hot shower facilities available together with camp site room with kettle, microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, seating and free tea and coffee facilities, especially appreciated by cyclist who travel light.

We love to welcome guests to our farm to share the beauty of the area. We are always happy to chat and advise on the best places to visit and eat out. BBQs are welcome and we can provide wood and also eggs if you haven't brought your own. Both children and adults alike love to get close up and personal with some of our animals. We have horses, donkeys, chickens and sheep who surround the site and red deer, rabbits, squirrels and so many more wild animals as well as buzzards, pigeons, crows, jackdaws, magpies and a host of small birds including woodpeckers, robins, blackbirds, thrushes, wrens, house martins, swallows and the list goes on. The night sky here is a definite draw to those who love a starlit sky. Come and enjoy.

Within easy driving distance of the farm are our wonderful surfing beaches, moorland walks, the Exmoor Zoo, Quince Honey Farm, Wimbleball Lake for fishing and water sports, cycling on the tarka trail, Lyntion and Lynmouth a short distance from the Valley of Rocks. Dunster with its castle and working mill among many other interesting attractions. Exmoor has so much to offer as well as the peace and quiet so many of our guests crave.
