The cottage is attached to the main house with plenty of space to park and relax in the large south garden. Newly built for guest comfort and safety being fully compliant with all building regulations and fire safety for peace of mind. It is very light with the south full wall window onto the terrace with amazing views to the Polden Hills. Space is cleverly organised for the lounge to be uncluttered with a boot and utility room. Sit on the terrace and enjoy incredible silence and dark skies.
We live next door in the main house. The privacy you desire depends on your wishes but you can use the summer gazebo by the pond and the unheated natural swimming pool (with signed house rules agreed) ) and outdoor shower block, all clearly signed.
Hide on the Hill is our house, plus the cottage, 2 bed and breakfast rooms, natural swimming pool with shower block and a yurt in a very secluded 2 acre garden on top of Wedmore ridge sandwiched between the Mendip Hills to the north and the Polden Hills to the south. Walk 15 minutes to Westhay National Nature reserve to see rare birds or you can just sit in the garden and hear booming bitterns in the morning. Open droves across the levels are easy to cycle to Glastonbury, Cheddar and Wells (routes provided), all about 5 miles. Larger groups and even some camping is available by contacting us. GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL SITE IS 10 MILES AWAY. TRANSPORT CAN BE ARRANGED There are a few buses but cycling hire can be available in advance , walking is easy to Wedmore and Godney village pubs. Walking many ridge routes for spectacular scenery as far as Wales. Five miles to Glastonbury for Authurian legends, Cheddar for- you guessed it- cheese and Wells for the famous cathedral.
