Food for both breakfast and dinner was very tasty, the dinner were big sizes as were the desserts. All food was excellent. Really good selection at the bar on tap beers and wide range of drinks in fridges. Great views out the back of hotel. Large car park which is free to park in. Pets are welcomed. "Lovely place Street, Clarks Shopping Village, the market and the high street shops plenty to see and the eateries there are many choices in and around. We used this as our base to travel to other points within Somerset although not many miles from other places it takes a long time to travel, little streets mainly the issue, obviously expected though (i.e. 15 miles took 36 mins driving). We went to Ivythorn Sporting, if you like range shooting then this is the best place around, Steve, fabulous man very informative and helped us make the most of our stay whilst in Somerset. Walking Brean Down was wonderful so much history to see, well worth the walk and the lovely cafe's on site. If you haven't been then it is well worth a visit. Very close proximity to lots of the coast line, Cheddar Gorge, we had the most fantastic Thai meal at ZenThai and also fish and chips in Cheddar. Most of all the weather was very kind and the sun shone for a short stay. We will return again."

The Abbey was a great place to visit. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative, bringing the site's history to life. We visited on a Tuesday, which was market day, which added to the experience. A visit to the Tor is a must, but give yourselves plenty of time for the climb; there are steps, but good gripping footwear is advised.

Bridgewater is, how can I put it, maybe the best way to describe it is when the police van turned up in the town centre, and I jokingly said to them can you help me please? I appeared with come on holiday by mistake. They laughed and said you certainly have. I’ve never seen so many homeless crackhead loud junkies in one town centre in one evening. It’s a shame because the area architecturally looks pretty nice and there is one fantastic restaurant there called the Smoky Plum which is literally one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. All I can think of is the Arctic Monkeys song “they say it changes when the Sun goes down. “ Please don’t ever go there

The Haynes Motor Museum and Fleet Air Arm museum are both nearby and excellent days out. We had an excellent meal out at Atrium restaurant in Yeovil where the food and ambiance were great. Eduardos cafe is excellent - lovely sandwiches, cake and pizza. They also do sausage rolls. There are a few art galleries and souvenir/antique shops to browse. The post office sells walking boots and clothing. Spar shop has a good deli. Whortlebury tea room is supposed to be good but we didn't manage to go in as it isn't open every day. Take a trip to Ramblers Rest tea room on the way to Lynmouth- lovely lunches and cream teas (but check opening times). Walk down to the beach and salt marsh - not a place for bathing but the scenery is spectacular. Go to Porlock Weir - the glass shop is great! There is a lovely cafe too. Take care with parking - pay on exit with a card. But beware - if the machine is out of order you may get a fine. Take a photo of the sign saying it is out of order to prove your case. Or you might be able to use Ringo parking app if phone signal is OK.
