The location is also just next to the 45-mile St Peter’s Way footpath and there is a bus link with the town of Maldon. Set in 10 acres of rolling countryside and horse paddocks, Hilltop Shepherd's hut's features include: • 18’ x 8’ dimensions • Mains electric, water and drainage • Dining table (Wall mounted / folding) with comfy chairs • Shower room / WC • Kitchenette with countertop electric oven and 2 ring hob, kettle, toaster and fridge with icebox / freezer section • Wood burner • Shower room • Wood burner and electric heating • Electric hot water storage tank • Double bed • outside furniture and BBQ / firepit (bag of wood provided) • Pull out memory foam mattress stored under the double bed, for a 3rd person, but given the compact nature of the accommodation, best suited for younger guests. • The property is located in a beautiful, secluded location, approximately 250 metres from the parking area, up an incline, so a reasonable level of fitness / mobility is required.

If you need some ideas for places and eateries to visit: Purleigh Bell pub, which if you follow the brown signs on the site to the top of the field and go through the gate and through the vineyard, it's just past the church, about a 500 metres walk (open Wednesday to Sunday) New Hall Vineyard, open for tastings and sales, left out of the main site entrance, 200 metres (closed Sundays in the summer and weekends from September to May ) Maldon Promenade Park, boat trips, nice walk along the waterfront and cafes ( Mrs Salisburys makes good coffee and food), 3 miles away. Burnham on Crouch with a very nice walk and its pubs along the sea wall, 8 miles away. Heybridge basin, with its cafe and pubs and lovely walk along the sea wall, 5 miles away Paper Mill Lock, canal boat trips, tow path, paddle board hire, and great cafe, 5 miles away RHS Hyde Hall, 7 miles Pitch & Putt Woodham Mortimer, 2 miles Maldon Smokehouse for a nice lunch of fresh fish and meats, 4 miles.
