Bumble Bee Cottage is an intimate and private 2-bedroom holiday cottage joined to our home Highdown Cottage, in a scenic elevated position overlooking our paddocks and Hartland farmland. Bumble Bee Cottage provides an ideal base from where our guests can explore the beautiful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Hartland Peninsula, with its open countryside and public walking paths across working farmland to the rugged and spectacular rocky coastline of North West Devon, all within a short walking distance from the Cottage. Bedroom 1 has a double bed that can be split into two single beds if required, flat screen TV and en-suite shower room leading off. Upstairs, bedroom 2 has a king-size bed, flat screen TV and private shower room. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a small table. The lounge has 42" TV, dining table and wood burner. The outside deck area has BBQ, patio table and chairs overlooking Highdown Cottage gardens and the open Hartland countryside with views to Bideford Bay. The property is set in a total area of 2.6 acres made up of several paddock areas, stables, barns and grazing areas with a dedicated dog exercise paddock for the needs of our canine friends.

We love this area and the stunning views from the cottage and paddocks. The location is perfect for dog lovers and we hope our guests and their dogs enjoy it as much as we do. Our own Golden Retriever certainly does! We welcome one small/medium dog to stay which must remain on the ground floor only of the cottage and we do ask for a small one-off charge for the dog which is payable upon arrival. We will have a special Doggie Pack ready for you when you arrive.

There are many special places to visit on the Hartland Peninsula, including some of our favourites: Hartland Abbey - beautiful house and gardens leading down to Blackpool Mill Beach, TV location for Pride and Prejudice. Look out for their outdoor theatre performances during the summer. Docton Mills Gardens – stunning gardens with well-regarded tea rooms. Hartland Quay – one of the most dramatic vistas of the North Devonshire coast, with museum and friendly pub. Mouthmill Beach – secret beach, accessible on foot, a short walk from the property. Brownsham Woods – National Trust woodlands boasting the starting point for several paths leading to the South West Coast Path, a short walk from the property.
