This gorgeous bungalow cottage has recently been renovated to the highest standard. All rooms are on the ground floor with easy access. An open plan kitchen / living room with a cosy wood fire. Outside is a secure area and at the front is a stunning view of the surroundings reaching right out to Bamburgh Castle on the coastline. The living/dining area has a beautiful wooden floor and comes with a modern kitchen and dining table to allow you to make meals and entertain just like you were at home. The living room has a Freeview television to allow you to continue watching your favourite shows as well as a DVD player if you're in the mood for a quiet afternoon/evening in watching your favourite film. The modern bathroom comes with a bath and a walk in shower and toilet. There is also a terrace attached to the cottage, so you can enjoy the sun during the day and have a quiet moment in the evening watching the sun set over the countryside in total peace (garden furniture provided). Inglenook comes with two bedrooms, 1 double (5ft), 1 twin. Perfect for when relaxing has got too much and you need to catch up with some sleep.
There’s something about the sea air and the open countryside that’s always shouted my name. Beach walks and long rural walks that stretch into the afternoon, and the peace you only find when the world slows down a little. That love led me to Northumberland—a county that stole my heart with its unspoilt landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and rolling countryside. I bought a property here, nestled in the quiet beauty of this part of the world, as a base to explore it all for myself. But it wasn’t long before I realised this place was too special not to share. With care and a lot of love, I renovated the property and transformed Wandylaw Cottages into two unique holiday cottages: Inglenook and Outlook. They’re sisters—each with its own character, but both designed to make you feel at home the moment you arrive. Whether you’re here for windswept walks, castle-hopping, starry skies, or simply to switch off and take in the views, I hope you find the same magic here that I did. Welcome to Northumberland. Inglenook and Outlook (my sister next door) welcomes you. — Rachel x
When staying at Wandylaw cottages, you're never very far from a beautiful local town to visit. Whether it's the medival village of Alnwick or the Coastal village of Amble, there is always something for you to see and visit. Allendale has been twice crowned Village of the Year for All England and it's easy to understand why. This pretty, stone-built village in the heart of the Allen Valleys may be small in size, but it is big in personality. Alnwick is one of those towns you just have to visit. Twisting cobbled streets with an eclectic collection of individual shops are teamed with some of the country’s top attractions, including Alnwick Castle. Amble proudly declares itself to be the ‘friendliest port’ in Northumberland, this waterfront town hugs the River Coquet estuary at the southern gateway to the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Berwick-Upon-Tweed is arguably England’s most dramatic walled town. Look around and you’ll soon find evidence of Berwick’s tempestuous past. Captured or sacked 13 times before finally falling into English hands in 1482, Berwick’s great Elizabethan walls were built to keep invading Scots from entering the town. Also Beaches and Castles galore! Come on in and start to explore!
