Words really fail me to explain how special this property was. The attention to every single detail was exquisite. I’m a professional organizer. My business is details. I’ve never seen anything like this. Everything - even the lights on the floor that automatically come on when you walk into the bathroom - was planned perfectly when this former convent was remodeled to make a sacred space for all its guests. There was even framed sheet music in the halls to, I assume, pay homage to the beautiful music that must’ve once graced the hallways. The staff was so warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was like something out of a Veranda magazine spread. The breakfast was delicious. At every turn in the hotel and the room itself, we were met with a delightful and unexpected experience. Who puts this much thought into a public space? The Cookie Jar does. You made our once-in-a-lifetime trip unforgettable.

The facilities are fantastic, everything you need is on site. Toilets were clean and shower blocks were of a good size and ideal for camping. Picnic benches are a lovely touch. If you have a car you can easily drive to holy island, bamburgh and other beautiful beaches. We had breakfast on our last day which was just right. All staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal place for families, but me and my partner enjoyed it just as much on our own. I would come here again 😊

The restaurant's interior design is amazing, it allows you to feel Titanic's passenger, without any catastrophical consequences :)

A lovely town with plenty to see and do.

A lovely town with plenty to see and do. Alnwick gardens are pricey but a glorious day out. Barters Books is heaven for any book lover. The market is a typical town market with local sellers and produce / crafts. Everything is within a short distance. The Playhouse Theatre is a lovely venue with a wide selection of productions. Plenty of highly rated restaurants and cafes - some can be pricey so be aware. Alnwick is a lovely place for a short visit or a longer one. Public transport links are great to go further afield even without a car too.

Definitely take a boat tour out to the Farne Islands. We did a tour where we didn't get off the boat and honestly it was completely fine. The boats got close enough to the nesting sea birds and seals that we really felt like we got our eyes full! Also for golfers, do play the local golf course. Some amazing holes on the back 9!

This is an isolated location with no shops in the immediate area - Seahouses, a short drive away has a Co-Op though. This is a perfect location from which to explore the rich historical area - if you like castles, there are none better than Bamburgh and Alnwick. The island of Lindisfarne is only a short drive too, but check the times for when the causeway is usable. So many places to see I can't list them all! Take a boat to the Farne Islands from Seahouses, visit Grace Darling's museum, and much much more.
