I booked accommodation here as a one-night stopover before heading home, but I found that everything of The Roxburgh was superb. Location ; it was not far from city center, it was located in residential area with very beautiful and tranquil atmosphere. there was only small walking path separate the hotel from the beach. The room ; I was in triple room with the street view but there were windows in the hallway facing to the beach. The hotel and its room were decorated in cute, beach-inspired theme that feels cozy and relaxing. The bed is very comfortable. The room came with fully stocked with tea, coffee and plenty of snacks. Staff ; The staff were excellent—helpful, attentive, and very informative. They provided clear and detailed advice, whether it was about the accommodation, local attractions, or restaurants in town. ฺBreakfast ; The breakfast was excellent—plentiful, tasty, and offered a wide variety of choices. The quality far exceeded expectations. The Roxburgh won't just be my stopover anymore, it becomes my new destination.

The Northumbrian Coast was beautiful and walking along by the city walls and looking over to the sea was stunning. The only down side to Berwick is the lack of public transport. Buses only tend to run every 2 hours and then they finish at about five thirty. I would definitely recommend having a car. Restaurants in Berwick are very good, ate out 4 nights choosing different cuisine’s and all very good

We stayed with a view over the harbour.

We stayed with a view over the harbour. It was lovely and walking the city walls early morning /evening was very enjoyable - during a nationwide heatwave it was too hot to do this during the day ! It was a great base for visiting the Farne Islands and Bamburgh Castle - both amazing places. We struggled to find a mid - price restaurant to eat at in Berwick with good reviews and so in the end we ate in Seahouses and also on Lindisfarne - but we had to book !

It was ideal for us to explore the town and it's interesting aspects e.g. to be able to walk around the walls; to take an evening boat trip out of the harbour and view the town and surroundings from the sea.; or a 'bus ride to nearby Paxton House

Historic town with full set of town walls, fun to walk around (free!). Interesting tunnels around the harbour. Some quirky shops in addition to the standard chains. Range of cafes and pubs. Good transport connections.

Berwick is very walkable and there’s lots to see.

Berwick is very walkable and there’s lots to see. Slight downside to my trip was not knowing the bus (outside of school holidays) only goes to Holy Island on Wednesday and Saturday, so I missed seeing it.

The hotel is modern and clean. I stayed with my large lurcher and he was made to feel very welcome and even got a sausage at breakfast. There was no issue arranging breakfast in the bar area where dogs are allowed or it could have been delivered to the room. It’s one of the most dog friendly places we have stayed. The breakfast was good quality and filling and there was a good range to choose from.

Lovely hotel with a very warm welcome. Very friendly bar manager who seemed to be running the hotel single handedly and doing a great job. Superb location over looking the harbour with easy access to walk around the island. Lovely room with a really comfy bed and a tasty breakfast served in the morning. Also a good choice of food throughout the day.

From the front of the hotel it looked exceedingly dowdy, peeling paint, dying plants no flags in the 4 poles. Nothing to tell a passerby that this is the best hotel not only in Berwick on Tweed but for miles around. It was really superb
