Great location to explore Northumberland and the coast. Convenient having a dedicated parking spot across from townhome. Having a separate dedicated clothes dryer was very nice as we didn't have to spend time hanging up clothes around the townhome to dry. Having a fullsize fridge was great also. The single pass to the pool/spa next door was a relaxing break from a busy travel schedule. I would absolutely make Chiff Chaff my first choice for a return trip.

Considering the building is right on the A1, it was very quiet as all rooms face away from the highway. Staff and food were amazing

We found the Sofa bed very comfortable. Everything ready for us. Local co-op open til 10pm so meals easy to make. On the quiet high street of a rural coaching town Access to attractions also easy. Friendly local pubs, we found 3! Description on Booking was accurate.

The location was wonderful and the property had a nice big patio and everything we needed to cook dinner. It was also across the street from Co-Op which was great. It is a little small, but perfectly functional and cozy.

What Guests Said About Belford:

Bamburgh is near by and Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle not too...

Bamburgh is near by and Lindisfarne, Alnwick Castle not too far away or Cragside. We ate at the Belford one night but were disappointed with our main the gammon steak. The breakfasts were very good. We arrived later than planned and were held up by farm vehicles on the A1 so we got there about 8.30. The guide had said meals served until 9pm, but in fact they finished at 8pm so we were too late on the first evening. 8pm seems a little early to finish orders when 9 pm used to be the norm. The local chippy shut at 8 pm as well so only the Co-op was open for cold food. Belford is a pleasant market town. If you are young and fit then the beaches on the east coast are excellent for most activities. Plenty of houses, gardens and castles to visit e.g. Bamburgh, Alnwick, Dunstanburgh and Chillingham. NT Cragside house very good. Lindisfarne/ Holy Island excellent but beware of the tide times which restrict crossing times.

This is an isolated location with no shops in the immediate area - Seahouses, a short drive away has a Co-Op though. This is a perfect location from which to explore the rich historical area - if you like castles, there are none better than Bamburgh and Alnwick. The island of Lindisfarne is only a short drive too, but check the times for when the causeway is usable. So many places to see I can't list them all! Take a boat to the Farne Islands from Seahouses, visit Grace Darling's museum, and much much more.

Mostly friendly helpful staff, new staff on evening meals needed more direct guidance and support. Rooms and restaurant/breakfast areas clean and tidy. Bar area welcoming and stocked with local and varied drinks. Good size meals and value for money, vegetarian options too, various selection for breakfast. Good location in a quiet village near to Bamburgh Seahouses and Holy Island. Stairs at property, but staff said happy to help with bags

Belford is as small medieval village with a nice pub to eat which was very good. We chose it as it was close to Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle. We saw Lindisfarne and Holy island the same day. Chillingham castle is 8 miles away too but we had no time to visit that as we should have stayed one more night!

Great base for exploring the area.

Great base for exploring the area. Although you have the amazing coastline, make sure you go inland and explore St Cuthbert's cave and Linhope Spout which we really enjoyed. Belford is well equipped with a Co-Op a few pubs and a fish and chip shop, but phone in advance any orders as they do get busy at the weekends! While the property is opposite a working quarry, we didn't notice any disturbance during our stay.

Lovely quiet village location with well stocked Co-op in walking distance. Pretty church, open to look around and spend a peaceful few moments of reflection. Unfortunately not particularly impressed by local pubs, but being so close to Bamburgh, we enjoyed nice meals and hospitality there.

Perfect location for our short holiday in Northumberland and extremely comfortable, also dog friendly. Staff were exceptionally helpful - we were disappointed with the hardness of the pillows and they provided replacement soft pillows the same day. Thoughtful touches included wine for us and a welcome pack for our dog !

I try and stay here once a year, if I can get the dates I want. The house is always clean and warm and it's perfectly located for all the sites along the Northumberland coast.
