The Kings' House is a warm, friendly, family home in a rural Hertfordshire village, within a few minutes drive of Hertford, Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage. We offer guests a pleasant stay in one of our two comfortable en-suite rooms with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. Please note that we provide room-only accommodation, and require guests to vacate their rooms by 9.30 on each day of their visit, unless by prior agreement with us. Although we do not offer breakfast at The Kings' House, there are various cafes in nearby villages, whose details are listed in the guest room information folders. The Kings' House is a pet-friendly home, and for a small extra charge, payable on arrival, we are happy to welcome your dogs, but ask you to call us before your stay to check.
For more than 15 years, I and my husband David have been welcoming guests to The Kings' House. We enjoy meeting people and over the years have made many friends from around the world. David is a bookbinder, gardener and writer and I enjoy sewing. We love music and are members of a local ukulele group, and are both church bellringers.
Bramfield is only a small community, but has many of the facilities necessary for a thriving village including a church, a village hall, a garage and a pub, and of course The Kings' House! There are many footpaths and bridleways in the locality, ideal for keen walkers. Nearby Hertford provides a host of restaurants and a lively nightlife. Historic Hatfield House and St Alban's Abbey are within easy reach, as is Shaw's Corner, the one-time home of playwright George Bernard Shaw.
