Sans Souci is a bespoke Shepherd's hut, lovingly hand built to an incredibly high spec. Completed in April 2021, it has a double bed, and double sofa bed. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a shower room with sink and compost toilet, and a log burning stove. There are far reaching views of the Cotswold hills, which can be taken in from the South-facing deck. Enjoy al fresco meals, cooking over the fire pit in the garden or walks galore in the local countryside. You have your own enclosed private garden. Sans Souci, which means "no worries' in French, is a short walk from the Cotswold Way. Stonehouse is a five minute drive, with supermarket, launderette, pubs and restaurants. Stroud, voted the best place in Britain to live, is 15 minutes away, with an amazing artisan farmers market on a Saturday. The bed is a slightly small double bed, so possibly not suitable for anyone much over 6 foot. It is also a shepherd's hut and therefor not big. Many groups of four stay and find they have plenty of room, but others may find it a squeeze with four. Although there are public transport links they are not plentiful , and taxis definitely need to be ordered if arriving at Stonehouse Railway station, and wanting to come to Sans Souci by taxi..

We are down a small country lane, surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside and lots of lovely walks from the front door (the Cotswold Way walking trail is not far away). It is very quiet neighbourhood with a few houses and a couple of farms, and nothing but greenery visible from the front garden of the hut. It is three miles to the nearest small town with shops, pubs and fantastic Italian restaurant.
