We are ideally located just off of the A171, within easy reach of Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Sandsend and Scarborough. Peaceful setting within the North York Moors, with wonderful countryside and sea views. We renovated our 1760's Agricultural Barn into 3 self-catering cottages at the end of 2013. Next was our old cow shed, which is now a guest games room - affectionately known as 'The Scratching Shed' Guests can relax in this area in comfy sofas and watch Tv, play games. There is a pool table, darts board, bar football and gaming table. Our fully equipped Shepherds Hut - 'Shepherds Watch' is located next to The Scratching Shed. It has electricity and a private toilet/wet room attached to the rear of the hut - access is outside. There is a small secure garden area with firepit, portable BBQ and a hammock. Parking is next to the hut. Great for those guests wanting to experience staying in a Shepherds Hut but still wanting their home comforts. For the adventurers - our 2 Off-Grid (no eletricity) Shepherds Huts - Hide & Sea and Deer's Leap are situated side by side in our meadow. A complete getaway from the stresses of everyday life. These 2 huts do not have electricity and share a eco loo (composting toilet). A cold water supply is in the hut. There is an outdoor campfire area to make the most of the experience. Watch the wildlife and prepare to be amazed by our dark skies - no light pollution here! Please Note: standard toilet and shower facilities with hot and cold water are located in our barn which is a 5 minute walk. You will also find a small utility area here with kettle, microwave, fridge and toaster. Parking is also a 5 minute walk from the Off-Grid Huts. All our accommodation has sea views and is surrounded by countryside. "Memories are made at Meadowbeck"
We have enjoyed renovating and creating Meadowbeck. We love living here with our animal family and sharing this special place with guests. You can be sure of a real Yorkshire welcome from us and we aim to make your stay a memorable one, for all the right reasons. We feel very proud and privileged to have lots of guests who return year after year.
Ideally located in the North York Moors with peaceful surroundings, sea & countryside views - yet just off of the A171 main Scarborough to Whitby Road. Meadowbeck gives you a peaceful space to escape the madding crowds but a great base to explore coastal towns & villages - Robin Hoods Bay, Whitby, Sandsend, Runswick Bay, Staithes - Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington. Wonderful walks along the coast and over the moors - public footpath from our accommodation to Boggle Hole, Robin Hoods Bay and along the Cleveland Way. Just across the road - The Flask Inn serves real ales and hosts live music. The Moorside cafe serves breakfasts, lunch and the Petrol Station has a shop. There is a bus stop at the top of our lane with local village stops and on to Scarborough or Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby.
