Melbury Rooms & Studios is an independently run serviced accommodation property in the heart of Exeter, offering hotel-standard rooms and self-catering studios in a beautifully presented Victorian villa. We have ten rooms in total, each with its own en-suite shower room, comfortable bed, workspace, and in-room essentials, with fast WiFi, all bills, bed linen, towels, and room cleaning included as standard. Although we're ideal for a short city break, many of our guests stay for weeks or months rather than just a night or two, whether they're here for work, a university placement, relocation, or simply a longer visit to the city. The property is ideally placed for all of it: within a short walk of Exeter city centre, the university campus, the bus station, and St David's railway station. Self-catering guests have access to a fully equipped shared kitchen, a dining area, an outdoor courtyard, and on-site coin-operated laundry. Our friendly and responsive Guest Services team are always on hand before, during, and after your stay.

St James is a vibrant, lived-in neighbourhood, the kind of place that feels settled rather than touristy.
