Welcome to No. 9 The Hill in Cromford, a characterful, Grade II listed Mill Worker's cottage equipped with everything you need for your short break in the Derbyshire Dales. Just a short walk to Matlock Bath, or the High Peak trail it's the perfect base for both an active holiday or relaxing, easy weekend away. The cottage has been recently modernised but retains a wealth of character. There's a washer/dryer, a dishwasher, central heating and everything else you'd expect for a comfy break. We hope you’ll find No.9 The Hill to be a perfect base for exploring the local historic sites and attractions, or a place to hide away and relax. If the weather is kind you’ll even have your own suntrap in the stone walled garden for a morning coffee or evening drink by the firepit.

No. 9 is in the heart of Cromford village. With a wide choice of places to eat and drink, and sites to see you'll be booking your return visit in no time! Before you even venture into nearby Matlock or Wirksworth, there’s so much to see and do in Cromford itself. You’ll have The Old Lock Up Gallery and Traveller’s Café just beyond the back gate and the old ‘Bear Pit’, a water junction built in 1775, tucked away just a stone’s throw further. The historic North Street is also worth a look, and you can take the path down through the allotments (behind the large tree near the Cromford Primary School) to work your way back to the cottage. The Bell Inn and Habib’s Fish and Chips are a few steps away and the Antique’s Loft and The Greyhound Hotel in the marketplace across the road. Parky’s Eatery and Cromford Studio & Art Gallery are well worth a visit, with the fabulously quirky Scarthin Books overlooking a mill pond just a few more metres away. The Boat Inn is full of character and hosts live music at the weekend and Robinson’s Fish and Chips is a traditional favourite. You’re also within easy walking distance of Richard Arkwright’s Cromford Mill and the High Peak Junction Visitor’s Centre, or Matlock Bath is a 15 minute walk in the other direction.
