Our 40+ homes are spread all across the New Forest, in picture postcard villages like Beaulieu, Brockenhurst and Burley…where the pace is slow and the ponies roam free… To the wilder north of the Forest, near Fordingbridge, down to the glorious coastal walks at Milford and Keyhaven, on to bustling Lymington with all its Georgian charm.

Lymington is often in The Times ‘Top 10 places to live in the UK’. This smart town, well done house is within 15 seconds walk to the vibrant high street. Further on, you’ll find miles of yachting marinas and sea wall footpaths to admire the boats and views from.

Going west are 4 miles of coastal nature reserve ending at the beautiful and rugged Hurst Spit and Hurst Castle (now a ruin – great for hide and seek and picnics). This coastline has great walks on mainly hard surfacing with views to the Isle of Wight Needles. Going east and north you soon access the National Park which is the smallest in the UK and full of wild and beautiful places to escape into. The bluebells here in the deciduous forests are a must – see in April and May. The short hop on the local ferry (terminal is walking distance) to the Isle of Wight which has its own sandy beaches (also walking distance). For Foodies You really are spoilt for choice for pubs and restaurants in Lymington and the surrounding area. Within walking distance the new and very popular eatPizza, Stanwells Hotel has a lovely bistro and courtyard garden for coffee, Lanes, Elderflower, and the Yacht Haven to name but a few. There are an abundance of local pubs too. Further afield (and you can get here by train and a 15 minute walk) is The Pig in Brockenhurst and Limewood Hotel – both extremely well regarded. Book early. If you do go to The Pig, the walking from here is excellent (as are their teas and coffees if you can’t book in for a meal). The New Forest area is 2 hours drive south of London. The city of Southampton is to the East, and Bournemouth is to the West but there are no major built up areas between. The New Forest is 300km square of beautiful forest and heathlands. It is coastal and The Solent is part of the English Channel. The small and agricultural Isle of Wight is part of the view from the beaches and coast to the south. The New Forest area is mainly flat with some rolling hills in the northern area. Walking and cycling here is particularly excellent.
