Couldn't ask for a better location facing the sea. It was fun to watch all the ships coming in and out. You ate every meal with a view with a variety of options. The staff were nice and parking was easy. Walking the sea route was just wonderful. The ferry was very close.

Dan, the host, is very communicative and super friendly. He's very sociable and clearly enjoys having guests to stay, it felt more like hanging out with a friend than staying in an anonymous hotel.

My room on the 3rd floor had everything that I needed. The hostess, Paula was first-rate, providing her special touch and treats here and there. Breakfast was excellent and I had the best sleeps since arriving in England 3 weeks ago.

What Guests Said About Cowes:

Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0

Great for short breaks and all things boaty.

Great for short breaks and all things boaty. Some nice shops, obviously with a strong nautical flavour. Attractive town centre with some intersting historic buildings. Great choice of eats and drinks to suit all tastes/budgets. Beaches close by are shingle but good for swiming and always lots to see, boats passing by of all sizes and shapes. Good bus connections for foot travellers. Lovely park and gardens which probably gets overlooked by most visitors unless they have a dog. Chain ferry to East Cowes is fun. Some great (and some free) museums for those interested in maritime stuff. We live on the big island close by so the Isle of Wight is a fun and easy to get to destination. Plenty to to do for a couple of days in Cowes itself and as with any UK break, in good weather the Isle of Wight is hard to beat!

Cowes was friendly and full of interesting little shops, cafes and pubs. As we had no car we enjoyed the electric bus service to Newport every 10 mins and from Newport very good bus services to everywhere we wanted to visit.

A fabulous finish to a longer stay on the Isle of Wight. Lovely harbour area with independent local shops. Pleasant to walk around with lovely coffee shops and cafes too. Ideal for people who have traveled by passenger ferry or by car. Reasonable car parking fees for long stay.

rom the moment I arrived at One Fifty, I felt welcomed and cared for. This boutique hotel strikes a perfect balance between luxury and comfort—elegant, yet warm and inviting. Thoughtful touches like fresh fruit and chocolates in the room made a big impression, and the impeccable service throughout my stay was both professional and personal. The included breakfast was amazing. Highly recommended!

The Villa Rothsay is a unique boutique hotel in Cowes steeped in sailing history, it has been family owned and run for decades. The character, position, service and breakfast are all first class. A gem and amongst our favourites.

The place was really spacious. Very well presented. We all loved the Hosts' welcome touch of flowers, wine and essentials, i.e., milk, bread and eggs. The location in Cowes was perfect as a base. The hosts were excellent.
