We are a relaxed and friendly, family-run Bed and Breakfast (not a hotel) in Carbis Bay, offering a modern approach to a traditional B&B service. Set in a classically white-washed Edwardian property, and sitting within a row of period coastal homes, the breakfast room enjoys stunning panoramic sea views across St Ives Bay. Oystercatcher is the perfect base to visit St Ives as well as explore West Cornwall by car or bus. We are situated within walking distance of the bustling harbour town of St Ives and the beautiful sandy beach at Carbis Bay.
I have lived in West Cornwall for many years and still like to explore and find the secret spots. As a family we love good food and have based a lot of our own travels on finding amazing food destinations all over the world! We have worked in many aspects of hospitality, even afloat, and so genuine hospitality is what you can expect, as well as lots of tips and advice to help you get the most out of your visit.
Oystercatcher is the perfect base for those wishing to visit St Ives as well as explore West Cornwall. St Ives is a 5-minute bus ride away, or a scenic 3-minute train ride away from Carbis Bay train station. If you're feeling adventurous walk along the South West Coast Path into town — there are spectacular coastal views and it takes about 40 minutes. The beautiful blue flagged sandy beach at Carbis Bay is a 15-minute walk away. There are some great restaurants within walking distance of Oystercatcher. Regular bus services run in the summer months so you can easily explore West Cornwall without a car.
