The charming, thriving town of Bideford, which spans the Torridge estuary, is home to a mediaeval bridge, a town quay, a charming pannier market, and a bustling shopping district, all of which are well worth a visit. The South West coast route passes nearby on its way towards Cornwall, and for the more active, a number of top surfing beaches, golf courses, amusement parks, and other attractions are close by. By car, it takes 30 minutes to drive to the charming fishing village of Clovelly perched on a cliff, and it takes less than an hour to get to Exmoor and Dartmoor.
