River Retreat is in a perfect location for fishing holidays, wildlife spotting and seeing the boats pass by on their way to and from the River Yare. One of our original Norfolk Broads lodges, River Retreat has been renovated and refurbished throughout. A great location at the entrance to our small, peaceful marina with quay headed moorings for use by our holiday lodge guests only. Tastefully decorated with double french doors leading to the veranda with water views. Bedrooms: Bedroom 1 – Double Bed Bedroom 2 – Double Bed Bedroom 3 – Twin Beds Bed linen provided. Bathrooms: Bathroom with a shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin. Separate toilet.  Hand and bath towels provided for number of guests staying. Starter toilet roll provided. Open Plan Kitchen/Diner/Lounge: Kitchen fully equipped with oven, stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, dining and cooking essentials, dishwasher & washing machine. Tea towels, J cloth, sponge, washing up liquid, antibacterial surface spray, hand wash, dishwasher tablets and a starter kitchen roll are provided. Lounge with Smart TV and Dining area seating 6 guests. The double French doors lead out to the veranda with dining furniture and steps down to the garden with picnic table and the waters’ edge. Mooring and Parking: Private quay headed mooring. Use of slipway on request. Private Parking x 2 cars. Additional parking is available in the main carpark free – please request. Dogs accepted on request: 30GBP per pet - Request and pay Norfolk Holiday Lodges Ltd directly. Electricity and Wi-Fi included. Cot and highchair on request. Fish bait fridge and 4 x recliner sun loungers. Fishing is permitted in open season only and a rod permit is required. Please note that there is unfenced deep water at the end of the garden.

This quiet and tranquil location is perfect to get into the quieter waters with your own boat, canoe, kayak or paddle board from our slipway. Bring your own boat and moor directly outside. Fishing permitted in season from the garden! We highly recommend exploring the Norfolk Broads from this idyllic location. Boat hire is available locally and our guests receive discounted rates on Canoe rental – pre booking with a local company is advised. Situated in the village of Brundall, which has its own railway station, shop/post office, mini-market, hairdresser, Chinese takeaway, Pizza takeaway, fish and chip shop, Indian restaurant, Cafe & bakery and local pubs serving good food. Quaint towns, villages and beautiful beaches are close by, as are an abundance of family attractions and beauty spots to suit everyone. The train station is just a stroll from our lodges with links to the fine city of Norwich only 8 miles away, with its excellent shopping, theatre, restaurants, inns, cafés, castle and museum or Great Yarmouth for an ice-cream on the beach and the Pleasure Beach with rides and amusements to keep all with rides and amusements to keep all the family happy. Explore the surrounding seaside towns and villages, Gorleston-on-Sea, Hemsby, Caister-on-Sea, Winterton, Horsey (seal colony), California, Newport and Hopton-on-Sea, all offering entertainment for a family holiday, as well as the pretty Broadland villages and countryside. For fun-filled family days out there is Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, Fairhaven Woodland and Water Gardens is worth a visit, as is the village of Strumpshaw with a steam museum and RSPB reserve.
