Whilst you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of Souter Johnnie’s Cabin you are only minutes by car from Dumfries and the surrounding countryside. This little corner of Dumfries and Galloway is truly beautiful, from the Solway Coast with over 200 miles of stunning and dramatic coastline with secluded little bays and sandy beaches, to the lush inland forests and hills. Throughout the region there is supreme mountain biking at the 7Stanes in nearby Mabie and Dalbeattie Forests, wonderful historical sites to visit, farm parks for the younger ones and some championship golf courses all around. Dumfries is a short drive away where there are many shops, pubs and restaurants. After a day of exploration you can return to Rockhall and enjoy the evening just marvelling at the dark starry skies – bliss!
