The Old Waterworks Campsite is tucked away about a mile down an ancient drovers track in the heart of the East-Anglian countryside. It is situated in the grounds of a former Edwardian waterworks just outside Suffolk's smallest town, Clare. The one-acre site with gorgeous views of the town and countryside, has no background noise other than the birds and the bees and the occasional tractor. We are located next to the upper common in the Clare conservation area. Which is ideal for bird watching, you will often see our local barn owl Barney in full flight, Peregrine Falcons and Kestrels hunting in the re-wilded field next door. Being set in the heart of the Stour Valley which is steeped in history and surrounded by glorious countryside that provides a feast of opportunities for walkers. With wildlife and history trails and a range of circular walks beginning and ending at the Clare Castle Country Park. Making it the perfect place for exploring this lovely part of Suffolk on foot.
